Neon was arguably the most buzzed-about color trend for 2019, permeating fashion runways, nail art and home decor. 2020 promises to be just as vibrant, but a bit more grown-up in terms of its color preferences. Etsy has named chartreuse as its color of the year for 2020, citing a 12 percent uptick in searches for green items and a 55 percent surge in searches for neon green items over the last three months.
“Chartreuse is a bold color known for increasing energy, encouraging unconventional thinking, and evoking feelings of growth and harmony,” writes Etsy’s Trend Expert, Dayna Isom Johnson. “It’s daring, statement-making, and unexpected — exactly what we’re all trying to embrace in the new year.”
