The seven-story, 210-unit development will be 50 percent market-rate units and 50 percent affordable housing for low- and middle-income families, Brownstoner<\/a> reported. Navid Maqami of Perkins Eastman is the architect of record. The complex was developed under Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s 2004 initiative to finance 165,000 units of affordable housing for 500,000 New Yorkers by the end of 2014, according to a press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n The new building will have 37 parking spaces and 35 bike storage spots underground, as well as 85 parking spaces and 77 bike spaces on the ground floor, says the Schedule A filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n The site was previously occupied by a vacant, single-story warehouse; before that, it was home to the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Railroad car barn, according to Greenpointers<\/a>.<\/p>\n Brownstoner<\/a> took construction shots last month of the rising building, which is almost complete.<\/p>\n
