Refreshed permits are out for Alfa Development’s residential conversion of a Hershey factory warehouse at 117-119 West 21st Street.<\/p>\n

The plan exam application, filed yesterday<\/a>, calls for eight new stories atop the existing four-story building in Chelsea. The block-through 32,541-square-foot project will rise 120 feet tall, with just nine units. William Alicea is the architect of record.<\/p>\n

The apartments will all be full-floor units, with duplexes on floors 1-2, 9-10 and 11-12. Residents will get a roof deck and enclosed parking for five cars, according to the Schedule A filing<\/a>. The developer previously filed plans for the location in September 2013<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Alfa bought the prime development site for $12 million in 2012, Crain’s<\/a> reported. The property, formerly owned by The Arc Building, was placed into bankruptcy in January of that year.<\/p>\n
