A five-story red brick building at 288 St. Nicholas Avenue will make way for a new two-story commercial development.<\/p>\n

Harlem Bespok<\/a>e first spotted a demolition permit filed August 2013<\/a> for a Queen Anne-style building on the corner of West 125th Street. The storefronts at the 50-foot-tall property were vacated in late 2013. The site is also known as 332 West 125th Street.<\/p>\n

The new 288 St. Nicholas will rise 42 feet, with retail on the first floor and an eatery on the second floor, according to a plan exam application filed on February 10th<\/a>. The building will measure 23,318 square feet.<\/p>\n

Gambino + LaPorta Architecture is the architect of record, and the developer is Brooklyn-based Abeco Management.<\/p>\n
