<\/a>Residents of the Intempo Tower, one of Europe\u2019s tallest skyscrapers, may have a hard time getting home if they own a unit above the 20th floor.<\/p>\nAccording to Spanish national newspaper, El Pais<\/a>, a development consisting of two 47 story towers in Benidorm, Spain has been built without an elevator above the 20th floor.<\/p>\n Intempo was originally planned to be 20 stories tall, but the developers decided to increase both towers to 47 stories. Regrettably, extra room for an elevator wasn\u2019t made available.<\/p>\n Believe it or not, this isn\u2019t the first blunder the architects and construction team had made while working on Intempo.<\/p>\n In 2009, the construction company involved went into liquidation and later an elevator fell with 13 people trapped inside. Ambulances weren\u2019t able to get to the site because vehicle access had been removed to save costs.<\/p>\n In 2008, the architects described the building as the future of architecture — \u201cits features of comfort, design, and elegance set a standard for the future of architecture and the city of Benidorm.\u201d<\/p>\n Unsurprisingly, the architects have since resigned from the project.<\/p>\n Although construction is scheduled to complete in December 2013, it is unclear how the issue of the missing elevator will be resolved.<\/p>\n Need a lift?
