Bullett <\/a>magazine went inside Culkin’s 5,100-square-foot $2 million Soho apartment-turned-art-studio strewn with cigarette butts, red Christmas lights and 40-ounce alcohol bottles.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old actor shares the workspace with the two other members of his 3MB Collective, Adam Green and Toby Goodshank of the Moldy Peaches. Culkin was inspired to get the apartment from his memories of the Tom Hanks movie\u00a0Big, which he watched two years before his breakout role at the age of 10 in\u00a0Home Alone.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter seeing Big,\u201d Culkin told Bullett, \u201cI wanted a loft space with an elevator that opened directly into my apartment, just like Tom Hanks did.\u201d<\/p>\n

Culkin, Green and Goodshank are currently displaying their artwork at (Le) Poisson Rouge in Greenwich Village; their work, which includes paintings of the Seinfeld cast standing naked on the Wheel of Fortune, plays heavily on 1980s and 1990s pop culture. “We took a lot of things from our own youths, from 5 to 25 years old,” Culkin told Bullett. “It’s almost self-referential in that we’re referencing ourselves when we’re referencing Hackers. It’s essentially a box within a box.”<\/p>\n
