After breaking ground at Exhibition Station this weekend, construction is officially underway on the Ontario Line<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The new 15.6-kilometre subway line will comprise 15 stations running from Toronto\u2019s Exhibition Place up north to the Ontario Science Centre. In addition to providing crowding relief at downtown transit stops like Union Station, the Ontario Line will also connect to 40 other transit routes, including GO train lines, existing TTC subway and streetcar lines as well as the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit line.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cOur government has moved at unprecedented speed to start construction on the new Ontario Line subway,\u201d said Premier Doug Ford in a press release<\/a>. \u201cThis project will be a game changer for the city and region and is a key part of our plan to build the roads, bridges, highways and transit needed to move our economy forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
