Concord Pacific \/ Adex<\/a> released a series of renderings and features for the 95-storey Concord Sky<\/a> tower that is slated for Yonge and Gerrard streets in downtown Toronto.<\/p>\n Construction on the tower is anticipated to be \u201cremobilized next month,\u201d bringing approximately 1,100 units to Toronto\u2019s Garden District neighbourhood. According to details on BuzzBuzzHome, construction is expected to wrap up in 2026.<\/p>\n\n In September 2021, Concord Adex<\/a> took over the project from Toronto-based luxury condo developer, Cresford Development Corporation, rebranding it from its former self as YSL Residences to Concord Sky. The project filed a proposal under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act a little more than a year after three of Cresford\u2019s high-rise condo towers \u2014 The Clover on Yonge, Halo Residences and 33 Yorkville \u2014 entered receivership with PricewaterhouseCoopers in March 2020. The three former towers have since been bought and revamped under new ownership.<\/p>\n The newly-rebranded Concord Sky project is designed by KPF Architects<\/a>, who is also behind One Vanderbelt in New York and Lotte World Tower in Seoul. Like YSL Residences, Concord Sky will keep its angular, fin-like shape. KPF Architects has further \u201credefined\u201d the tower with expansive glass panels and an animated light program that will run down the exterior of the building.<\/p>\n Inside, the interiors at Concord Sky will boast nine-foot ceilings, engineered quartz countertops and soft-close cabinetry to pair with the owner\u2019s choice from two designer colour palettes. Unit sizes will range from 331 to 1,213 square feet with studio to three-bedroom layouts, according to current information on BuzzBuzzHome.<\/p>\n As part of Concord\u2019s dedication to healthy living, the 95-storey tower would house cycle-focused amenities. This includes a gear room where future residents can work on their bikes, snowboards or skis with condo-provided communal tools. A bike washing station, storage, a cycling simulator spin room and a bike elevator with direct access to the ground floor would also be incorporated.<\/p>\n Concord BioSpace Systems, which has also been integrated into sister projects like Concord Metrotown<\/a> and The Gloucester on Yonge<\/a>, will be included in Concord Sky. Described as a \u201cmulti-layered system,\u201d this feature would lend cleaner and safer indoor living with the help of improved airflow, filtration and UV sanitization. Eleven high-speed residential elevators with mobile e-calling would also be added to reduce wait times and allow for better traffic flow, along with smart technologies such as touchless mobile access, automated package delivery, electric vehicle quick-charge stalls and high-speed WiFi in amenity areas.<\/p>\n “By supporting our residents’ active lifestyle and investing in a top of the line air purification system with Concord BioSpace, we’re responding to a global desire for healthier, hassle-free living where technology and innovative design intersect,” said Isaac Chan, vice president of sales and marketing at Concord Adex in the press release. “Concord Sky’s ‘next generation’ building design with its uncompromised bike program, is a continuation of our health, wellness and sustainable approach to downtown living.”<\/p>\n In the lineup of tallest towers in Canada, Concord Sky ranks high on the list. The 299 metre-tall building is said to be the country’s second tallest residential tower and the fourth-tallest structure in Canada, according to the press release.<\/p>\n Fellow contenders likely include Pinnacle International\u2019s Skytower at 95 storeys and 312.5 metres, and The One by Mizrahi Developments, which submitted an addendum<\/a> back in December 2020 to raise its height to 94 storeys and 338.3 metres.
