Maybe you\u2019ve always thought a couch was a better bed than a bed. You may even be the type of person who doesn\u2019t mind if their balcony has about as much room to move as the living room.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re any of these people &#8211; the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/toronto-on\/the-goode\">Goode condos<\/a> in Toronto\u2019s Distillery District has the perfect unit for you. At 263-square feet, it\u2019s the smallest units ever offered in Toronto (or anywhere else in Canada). according to the BuzzBuzzHome database.<\/p>\n<p>With units in the building starting at $455,900, that works out to about $1,733 a square foot.<\/p>\n<p>Now, you may be tempted to compare this unit to a prison cell. But that would be unfair &#8211; a standard Canadian prison cell is 75 square feet, which means the condo could comfortably fit three prisoners without too much complaining.<\/p>\n<p>While the units on the 11th through 50th floor may be small &#8211; the floorplan\u2019s main room is listed as the \u201cLiving\/Dining\/Sleeping Room\u201d at 12 feet by 12 feet &#8211; the designer insists space has been optimized.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/2021_09_08_04_51_27_thegoodecondos_graywooddevelopmentsltd_floorplans_0a.jpeg\" rel=\"lightbox[220552]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-220553\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/2021_09_08_04_51_27_thegoodecondos_graywooddevelopmentsltd_floorplans_0a.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1275\" height=\"1613\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt The Goode, both suites and amenities are equal parts relaxed and refined,\u201d senior designer Carolyn Roche says in a video. \u201cDistinct and distilled. Expansive and elevated. Every floorplan has been finely tuned to maximize light and space, with spectacular views across the city and the lake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The building doesn\u2019t offer the only small condo in the city. There is a 277 square foot unit that rents at Yonge and College in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/toronto-on\/karma-condos\">Karma Condos<\/a>. New York City famously offers up a 60 square foot unit that comes on the the rental market every once in a while to spark a flurry of stories.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/toronto-on\/the-goode\">The Goode by Graywood Developments<\/a> markets itself as one of the last buildings to be built in the Distillery District. From its website:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTitled\u00a0The Goode, the building\u00a0at 33 and 37\u00a0Parliament St. in the\u00a0Distillery District\u00a0will be 32 storeys and will include a multi-purpose room, a co-working area, fitness studio, bicycle repair room, maker\u2019s table and pet wash.<br \/>\nIt will also feature a large roof terrace with a swimming pool and rooftop garden stand atop the 10-storey podium overlooking Distillery Lane.<\/p>\n<p>The building\u2019s name is a nod to\u00a0Gooderham &amp; Worts, once one of the largest distilleries in the world. The condo will essentially complete the condo development in the area, and be among the last developments built once construction is completed. Other major projects in the area include\u00a0a 31-storey hotel at 60 Mill St.\u00a0and one in the nearby Canary District\u00a0designed by Danish architects.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id='pressboard-ad-sponsorship-msg'><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maybe you\u2019ve always liked tight spaces.
