<\/a><\/p>\nLocated at 601 Beach Crescent<\/a>, at the north end of the Granville Bridge, a 55-storey residence by Pinnacle International<\/a> has been proposed to join Westbank\u2019s<\/a> Vancouver House tower as the gateway to downtown Vancouver.<\/p>\n Public comments are now being accepted in advance of a virtual open house from May 10th to 16th. This will be followed by a Development Permit Board decision scheduled or July 12, 2021. The development\u2019s rezoning application was approved by council last fall, allowing for two additional storeys, giving it a total height of 535 feet (163 metres).<\/p>\n The project would be taller than the 495-foot (151 metre) Vancouver House and would add a total of 455 homes to the neighbourhood, including 303 condominiums and 152 social housing units. It would also have 29,288 square feet (2,721 square metres) of retail space at ground level. Its proposed height would make it the fourth tallest building in Vancouver, ahead of The Private Residences at Hotel George which was completed in 2012.<\/p>\n Bordered by Beach Crescent, Rolston Street, Pacific Street and Seymour Mews, the project is situated on a wedge-shaped site with a total area of 62,168 square feet (5,775 square metres). A three-storey parking garage would be accessed via Seymour Mews and would house 453 vehicle parking spaces and 872 bicycle spaces.<\/p>\n Designed by JYOM Architecture and GBL Architects<\/a>, the tower boasts modern architectural design inspired by rhythmic and dynamic gestures of dancers in motion. Its gentle curves and sculpted lines are meant to simultaneously complement and contrast the twists and turns of Vancouver House, situated across the street.<\/p>\n \u201cThe movement-inspired design created by the undulating curves of the fa\u00e7ade that flow dynamically from top to bottom, allude to a dancing pair performing for the community and for the City,\u201d reads the design rationale. \u201cThrough massing, form and motion, the design harmonizes the ideals of creating a dynamic public realm and celebrating the new Beach neighbourhood.\u201d<\/p>\n Inside, the unit breakdown for the social housing portion consists of 20 studios, 69 one-bedroom, eight accessible one-bedroom, 30 two-bedroom and 25 three-bedroom layouts. Meantime, the condominiums include 143 one-bedroom, one one-bedroom-plus-den, 119 two-bedroom and 40 three-bedroom suites.
