<\/a> Photos: James Bombales<\/em><\/p>\nVia Bloor<\/a> is a two-tower development under construction on a wedge-shaped parcel of land on the corner of Bloor Street East and Parliament Street.<\/p>\n The condominium by Tridel<\/a> now rises at the gateway to Toronto\u2019s Yorkville district as construction approaches the top floors on both towers. Work began in February 2018, when the site was fenced off and cleared, followed by the arrival of excavation and shoring equipment. This phase of construction lasted until September, when the site\u2019s four-storey underground level was fully excavated, and two cranes were installed by the end of 2018.<\/p>\n The project celebrated a major milestone a year later in November 2019, when construction passed grade level and forming work commenced on the shared podium. The two towers progressed quickly through most of 2020, and by December, forming was underway on the 31st floor of Via Bloor 1<\/a> and the 35th floor of Via Bloor 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n Today, workers are pouring concrete for the top few floors on the 37- and 45-storey towers. Meanwhile windows have been installed up to the 32nd floor on Via Bloor 1 and the 37th floor on Via Bloor 2. Electrical, plumbing and ventilation rough-ins are also in progress, while drywall installation and painting have begun on the lower floors.<\/p>\n When complete, Via Bloor will house a total of 769 suites within the two architectsAlliance<\/a>-designed towers. The exteriors are characterized by clean, contemporary lines softened by a chamfered effect on the eastern building\u2019s fa\u00e7ade.<\/p>\n Inside, suites range in size from 913 to 3,114 square feet and feature a collection of one- to three-bedroom floorplans appointed with high-end finishes curated by II BY IV DESIGN<\/a>. Amenities include a lobby with concierge service and a lounge, a fourth-floor amenity level with state-of-the-art fitness facilities and outdoor terraces, and a fifth floor outdoor terrace complete with a swimming pool.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
