<\/a>Photo: Coldwell Banker Realty<\/a><\/em><\/p>\nWhen working with architect Ed Niles on the design of their Malibu home in the early \u201880s, Milton and Saralyn Sidley requested a modern home with consideration paid to the coastline\u2019s seismic activity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What they got was an out-of-this-world, 4,356-square-foot home made up of two steel and glass structures that are connected by a sky bridge. Completed in 1992, the architectural marvel took five years to construct and was the couple\u2019s second home designed by Niles.<\/p>\n 27929 Winding Way hit the market over the weekend, priced at $20 million, with <\/span>Bill and Daniel Moss<\/span><\/a> of Coldwell Banker Realty named as the listing agents. Located in Central Malibu, it\u2019s minutes away from the Pacific Coast Highway and Paradise Cove Beach.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Showcasing curvilinear forms, giant spans of glass and soaring ceiling heights, 27929 Winding Way is unlike any other home in this galaxy. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom estate is perched above two acres and overlooks the Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n The imposing entryway resembles a glass-encased airplane hangar with 35-foot ceilings and direct sightlines to the water. This open-concept space encompasses the gourmet kitchen, dining area and living room, and features a walk-out to the backyard.<\/span><\/p>\n The kitchen is concealed behind a partition wall and touts floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, sleek black countertops, two islands and a breakfast nook. A walk along the sky bridge \u2014 suspended 16 feet into the air \u2014 transports you to the home\u2019s private spaces, which are separated into pods off a long hallway.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n At one end of the corridor is the fitness studio, complete with verdant views of the grassy lawn and surrounding mountains. There\u2019s a laundry room with ample storage and a sink, as well as an enclosed closet with built-in organizers. Next, you\u2019ll discover the guest bathroom, which retains an \u201880s feel (hey, the aesthetic is making a comeback!) and touts a beige-tiled shower with a huge pane of frosted glass.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Across the hall is a home office, which doesn\u2019t afford much privacy, but its function could be swapped with the serene sitting area, whose glass walls blur the line between indoors and out. The master suite touts two walk-in closets, yet another sitting area, and a futuristic-looking ensuite bathroom with a double vanity that stands in the center of the room.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Ocean vistas are visible from the bedroom, which opens onto an expansive balcony with areas for lounging, dining and soaking in the jacuzzi. The backyard includes an elongated swimming pool, mature trees and several sculptures, although it\u2019s unclear whether those will be included in the sale of the property.
