<\/a>Photos: James Bombales<\/em><\/p>\nScout Condos<\/a> will soon be emerging from the ground at 1791 St. Clair Avenue West, just steps from Stock Yards Village and Corso Italia.<\/p>\n The mid-rise condo project by Graywood Developments Ltd<\/a> is located along a stretch of St. Clair Avenue West that\u2019s in the midst of transformation, with other new developments like Scoop Condos<\/a> and Reunion Crossing<\/a> nearby.<\/p>\n Construction at Scout began in late 2019 when the sales centre located on the site was demolished. The building was previously home to West York Chevrolet\u2019s showroom and garage. An official groundbreaking ceremony was held in mid-December and attended by the project team, including Stephen Price, President and CEO of Graywood Developments, and Adidharma Purnomo, Vice-President of Development at Graywood Developments.<\/p>\n Following the groundbreaking, crews began the shoring phase, which involves reinforcing and securing the surrounding soil as trades excavate the two-storey foundation. The next big milestone was reached in the summer of 2020 when the tower crane was installed, allowing for formwork to begin on the lower floors.<\/p>\n Today, the construction site stretches the entire block from Ford Street to Osler Street as workers continue to pour concrete on the underground levels. The eastern portion of the site is slightly further ahead as construction approaches grade level.<\/p>\n When complete, Scout will feature a 12-storey residence designed by SMV Architects<\/a>. The design boasts a contemporary mid-rise profile characterized by a warm exterior colour palette, classic brick cladding and large windows. Inside, homebuyers have a selection of open-concept suites to choose from, ranging from 565 to 1,245 square feet.<\/p>\n Residents will have access to two floors of amenities, including a TACT<\/a>-designed lobby featuring concierge service, fitness centre, games room, lounge and multi-purpose room. There\u2019s also a party room and lounge on the 12th floor that comes complete with a catering kitchen. The common space opens to an outdoor terrace, dining lounge and sun deck.<\/p>\n With construction well underway, the developer plans to open a new sales office within the retail area of the recently completed Scoop Condos across the street.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
