A corner lot in the northeast section of the Junction Triangle is on track to deliver hundreds of new rental apartments and a community library to the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

Toronto-based developer and builder, TAS, recently shared a construction progress update for its purpose-built rental project at 299 Campbell Avenue via Twitter<\/a>. According to online photos, the future 14-storey building appears to be working on the first phases of vertical construction as the bones of the first storey take shape.<\/p>\n\n

When complete in 2022, the mid-rise development at Campbell Avenue and Dupont Street will deliver 236 purpose-built rental residences and a new Toronto Public Library branch on the ground floor.<\/p>\n

A brief online description of the project explains that a series of community consultations were held back in 2017 to guide the direction of the building in the neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis input inspired the design of a purpose-built rental project that includes multigenerational living for families of all types and sizes and welcomes its local neighbourhood,\u201d reads the project\u2019s details on TAS\u2019 website.<\/a><\/p>\n

The most recent versions of application documents submitted to city planners<\/a> shed some light on the features 299 Campbell Street will include. Architectural drawings from August 2019 depict a 10,033-square-foot \u2018community facility\u2019 fronting onto Dupont Street, with a 3,212-square-foot retail space accessible from Campbell Avenue. A parcel room, pet wash station and lobby would be provided on the ground floor of the building\u2019s residential portion. A gym facility and yoga room would be included on the second floor, followed by outdoor amenity terraces on the third and rooftop level.<\/p>\n

In the neighbourhood, leasing is expected to kick off at Vine Avenue Suites in March while construction continues at 1553 Bloor Street West Apartments.<\/p>\n
