Preliminary feedback cited a need to protect PDR space in San Francisco \u2014 sometimes referred to as \u201cmakerspace\u201d because it is reserved for artisans, craftspeople and small manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/rendering-of-first-iteration.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[211500]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-211502\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/rendering-of-first-iteration.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"596\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Initial rendering of\u00a0900 Seventh Street development proposal,\u00a0via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.potreroview.net\/recology-pushes-for-residential-towers-to-be-built-on-a-parking-lot\/\" class=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">The Potrero View<\/a>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In response, the scope of the project was significantly altered in 2019, calling for 390 to 500 residential units, including upwards of 200 affordable units, while increasing the amount of office and PDR space.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not clear when, exactly, the mixed-use development plans were scrapped, but Amazon announced on Tuesday that it intends to construct a new delivery station at the site \u2014 the company\u2019s first in San Francisco. The proposed package storage facility would consist of a three-story, 510,150-square-foot building with a logistics center and office space, 145 parking spaces and 10 loading docks.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon\u2019s proposal adheres to the area\u2019s industrial zoning requirements and height restrictions.
