For many people, the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting shift to remote work has not only made them rethink how they live, but also where they live.<\/p>\n
So what exactly can you get in the \u2018burbs? In Vaughan, just north of Toronto, a budget of $1.9 million gets you a lot of house. Take The Quail in Lindvest\u2019s<\/a> Klein Estates<\/a> community in Kleinburg, for example. The 50-foot executive home boasts four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a total of 4,717 square feet of living space \u2014 $406 per square foot, according to the most recent data from BuzzBuzzHome<\/a>.<\/p>\n To showcase the floorplan, Lindvest partnered with Jane Lockhart Design<\/a> (JLD) to unveil a fully-furnished model of The Quail in Klein Estates. The stunning home is lavishly appointed with natural stone and wood floors, custom millwork, and a harmonious blend of neutrals, dark tones and metallic accents.<\/p>\n \u201cFor this house, our concept was to have the public spaces fairly neutral in terms of the hard\/fixed surfaces and large furnishings,\u201d said Jeff Palmeter, Senior Designer at JLD. \u201cHowever, we also implemented a lot of bold contrast and bright, punchy colour in the artwork \u2014 all highlighted with gold and black metalics.\u201d<\/p>\n A sunken foyer trimmed with a black and white, dark wall paint, and a black and gold light fixture sets the tone for the rest of the home. A set of French doors off the main entryway open into a private library adorned with custom-built shelves. The main hallway leads past a formal living and dining room with coffered ceilings and into a bright and open kitchen, breakfast area and family room at the rear of the home.<\/p>\n The U-shaped kitchen is ideal for entertaining and features ample storage and prep space. An expansive island finished in a dark wood tone takes centre stage and features bar seating for five. Contemporary white cabinets complement the kitchen’s clean lines and provide stark contrast to the island and surrounding wood trim and shelves. The overall look and feel of the kitchen design is tied together through the use of brass and gold accents on the hood fan, cabinet pulls, island trim pieces and the two pendant lights above.<\/p>\n Overlooking the kitchen and breakfast area is an expansive family room, furnished with an oversized sofa, plush armchairs and a gas fireplace flanked by a pair of square windows. Coffered ceilings with pot lights, wall mounted sconces and striking artwork finish the space.<\/p>\n More room for entertaining is found in the finished basement, complete with a bar area with a sink, wine fridge and penny tile backsplash.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
