<\/a><\/p>\nPhotos: James Bombales<\/em><\/p>\n Project:<\/strong> M City Located 30 kilometres west of downtown Toronto, construction on one of the GTA\u2019s largest new residential projects is well underway. M City<\/a> by Rogers Real Estate Development Limited<\/a> and Urban Capital<\/a> broke ground on the first two phases in 2018 and work on the project has since progressed past grade level.<\/p>\n While M City will eventually consist of multiple condominiums, and span 15-acres along Burnhamthorpe Road from Confederation Parkway to Grand Park Drive, the majority of construction has focused on the first two towers, M1<\/a> and M2<\/a>. Excavation on the 60- and 61-storey, CORE Architects<\/a>-designed residences wrapped up in 2019, and much of the five-level underground parking garage is complete. Crews are currently working on electrical rough-ins, sprinklers and plumbing installs.<\/p>\n Outside, both towers have reached significant milestones with ground level footings and concrete now poured. M1, situated on the northeast corner of the site, is slightly ahead of M2 as concrete support pillars and steel frame shoring systems for subsequent floors are visible from the street.<\/p>\n As construction progresses, M1 and M2 will soon surpass Mississauga\u2019s current tallest building, the 56-storey Absolute World Condos<\/a>, just one kilometre east of the project. <\/p>\n However, all of these towers will eventually be dwarfed by the next M City condominium, M3<\/a>, which will rise 81-storeys over the community when completed in 2023. M3 Condos is situated on the northern edge of the site along Burnhamthorpe Road West, adjacent to M1 and will be flanked by a linear park to the east and the two-acre, \u2018M Park\u2019 to the south.<\/p>\n
