<\/a><\/p>\nA week after the release of a new batch of renderings, the development proposal for <\/span>222 West 2nd Street<\/span> in DTLA was reviewed by the Los Angeles City Planning Commission. The design has changed quite a bit since the project by <\/span>Tribune Real Estate Holdings<\/span><\/a> was first proposed in October 2016, evolving from a 30-story building with 107 residential units, office space and ground-floor retail to a now 56-story building that will bring 680 residential units, including 45 reserved for Workforce Housing, and 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Planning Commission approved and adopted a number of <\/span>recommended actions<\/span><\/a>, but a change to the district\u2019s zoning requirements must be ratified by City Council before the project is greenlit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 222 West 2nd Street will feature 188 studios, 259 one-bedroom units and 233 two-bedroom units, some of which will offer private outdoor space in the form of balconies or terraces. The\u00a0Solomon Cordwell Buenz<\/span><\/a>-designed building will also boast amenity spaces on the 11th and 39th floors, including a swimming pool and spa, outdoor lounge and barbecue areas, grassy lawn, fitness center, and indoor entertainment areas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
