It\u2019s no secret that everyone loves receiving a beautiful floral arrangement. But not everyone can justify the hefty price tag that can often come with buying one from a florist, which can run upwards of $80. In this video, you\u2019ll learn how to elevate common flowers you can find at grocery stores or your local flower shop \u2014 think roses, tulips and carnations \u2014 into an arrangement that looks like it came from a pro.<\/p>\n<p>Most people will have a one-liter mason jar kicking around and the ribbon adds a custom, rustic touch. For this arrangement, we used two types of eucalyptus \u2014 baby blue and willow seeded \u2014 to create the base layer. You can experiment with the greenery that\u2019s available to you, including ruscus, fern or even some pine from your backyard.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Floral-Arrangement-On-Dining-Table.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[189266]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-189273\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Floral-Arrangement-On-Dining-Table.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We went with coral tulips, peach carnations, deep red roses and then added two sunflowers for an unexpected pop of color. These blooms are sure to be just as vibrant as the person receiving them but you can also go with a softer palette of whites and light pinks.<\/p>\n<p>All together the materials came to $40 and there were enough supplies to fill two vases. With these common flowers and some tricks of the trade, you can delight someone you love \u2014 no matter the holiday \u2014 and also treat yourself which is never a bad idea.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-189276\" src=\"https:\/\/www.livabl.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Floral-arrangement-materials.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"696\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Shopping list<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>6 tulips, often sold in bundles where you get around 10 stems for around $6.99<br \/>\n3 roses, purchased individually for $3 a stem.<br \/>\n5 carnations. This is one of the most affordable flowers you can get, averaging around $1\/stem.<br \/>\n2 sunflowers, purchased at the flower shop for $2 a stem.<br \/>\n3 eucalyptus branches, sold in small bunches averaging around $3\u2014$5.<br \/>\n2\u20143 clippings of willow seeded eucalyptus or other greenery alternatives like ruscus, $7.99 for 3\u20144 branches.<br \/>\nOne-liter mason jar<br \/>\nRibbon or twine<br \/>\nOptional: Floral food.
