<\/a><\/p>\nBurnaby hasn\u2019t seen anything like Akimbo<\/a> before.<\/p>\n The striking 40-storey mixed-use condo tower from IMANI Development<\/a>, set to rise at the northwest corner of Dawson Street and Madison Avenue in the heart of Brentwood, is a new architectural gem in the making.<\/p>\n In an area dotted with glass-and-steel condo towers, the architects at the award-winning firm IBI Group have taken a different approach, providing Akimbo with uniquely angled balconies that scale the height of its facade. The spacious balconies not only create visual interest \u2014 they ensure each of the tower\u2019s 350 residences will have an incomparable view.<\/p>\n Akimbo will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom air-conditioned condos with nine-foot ceilings. While pricing is not yet public, register at akimboliving.com<\/a> to be among the first to receive more information about the iconic tower.<\/p>\n Spread out across the tower\u2019s fourth floor, a sprawling amenity level will provide Akimbo residents with more than 8,100 square feet of entertainment.<\/p>\n Amenities include everything residents need to stay fit, host guests, and relax: there will be a party room with kitchen, dining area, couches, and TV area; an outdoor deck with a barbecue-and-dining area, as well as green space and children\u2019s play area; a modern fitness centre; and a fully-furnished guest suite.<\/p>\n Akimbo also encompasses 13,600 square feet of retail and 47,750 square feet of office space, which will establish a live-work-play community just minutes from the Gilmore and Brentwood SkyTrain stations.<\/p>\n That IMANI Development is the force behind Akimbo should come as no surprise. The city-builder has been responsible for some of the most notable buildings in the Lower Mainland over its 30 years of construction and development experience.<\/p>\n
