A sprawling 8,000 square foot duplex penthouse at <\/span>53W53<\/span><\/a> went on the market today. <\/span><\/p>\n

With an asking price of nearly $64 million, the unit is NYC\u2019s third most expensive condo \u2014 behind the penthouses at 212 Fifth Avenue and 100 East 53rd Street.<\/p>\n

The unit \u2014 PH76 \u2014 is the building\u2019s first of six penthouses to hit the market and is the largest of five duplexes.<\/p>\n

The full-floor residence offers 360-degree views of Central Park, the Hudson and East Rivers, as well as the downtown Manhattan skyline. It has four bedrooms and a living room with double-height ceilings.<\/span><\/p>\n

The penthouse includes a gas burning fireplace, private elevator, Central Park-facing corner dining room, windowed eat-in kitchen and complete suite of appliances by Miele and Sub-Zero.<\/p>\n

The private, floor through master bedroom suite encompasses the north and south corners of the second floor and includes dual walk-in closets and spacious master bath clad in Noir St. Laurent marble.<\/p>\n

53W53 is being developed by <\/span>Hines<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Pontiac Land Group<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Goldman Sachs<\/span><\/a>, and was designed by <\/span>Jean Nouvel<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>SLCE Architects<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Adamson Associates Architects<\/span><\/a>. The interiors were designed by <\/span>Thierry Despont<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Jean Nouvel<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The residences sit atop the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and are a short walk away from high-end shopping on Fifth Avenue and Central Park. As an added perk, residents also receive a MoMA membership.<\/p>\n
