Yep.<\/span><\/p>\n Unsurprisingly, the color forecast for 2018 is less optimistic, with moody hues that range from rich blue-green to inky black. Paint manufacturers seem to be going through a bit of a goth phase, but there were a few outliers, including a vivid shade of red and a dusty-rose. The matte grey-black is \u201can oft-misunderstood neutral\u201d with an air of timeless sophistication. \u201cIn the current day, consumers often feel uneasy, restless or like their privacy is being invaded, so they crave deep, comforting colors that offer a welcomed escape from the chaos of daily life,\u201d noted Dee Schlotter, PPG senior color marketing manager, Olympic Paints.<\/span><\/p>\n Photos: Glidden<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n Glidden also painted black as a \u201cforgotten neutral.\u201d Their choice for Color of the Year is Deep Onyx, a \u201cno-fuss shade\u201d with a minimalist aesthetic. While Oceanside is an eye-catching color in its own right, the energetic hue allows decor and furniture pieces to pop, creating a multi-dimensional look.<\/span><\/p>\n Photo:\u00a0Dunn-Edwards<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n Slightly more green than blue, Dunn-Edwards\u2019 Color of the Year is \u201cmoody, dramatic and intense, while still grounding and tranquil.\u201d During the 19th century, creative types would gather in Parisian bars and cafes to sip absinthe from 5 o\u2019clock onward \u2014 hence the name, \u201cThe Green Hour.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Photos: Pratt & Lambert<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n This midnight blue hue offers \u201cluxurious serenity,\u201d and is an astute choice for a bedroom or living room. Not only do Bahia Grass and Plume Grass have similar-sounding names, the hues are almost indistinguishable from one another.
