<\/a><\/p>\nRendering: <\/span><\/i>Eastline<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/p>\n Lane Partners<\/a>, the\u00a0developer that’s\u00a0helping\u00a0<\/span>Uber bring its headquarters to Oakland<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>is now also slated to build\u00a0a massive mixed-use development known as <\/span>Eastline<\/span><\/a>\u00a0right above the BART line in downtown Oakland. Construction is expected to begin in 2018. <\/span><\/p>\n The Eastline site is located exactly one block north of where Uber’s headquarters will be, and at 1.3 million square feet will be over three times the size of that building. It promises to be another striking new addition<\/span>\u00a0the city\u2019s quickly changing skyline.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n All told, the development\u00a0will have\u00a0800,000 square feet of\u00a0office and retail space, 18,000 square feet of art space and 31,000 square feet of open space. It will also devote 400,000 square feet to 388 new housing units. <\/span><\/p>\n Drew Haydel, principal at Lane Partners, <\/span>told The San Francisco Business Times<\/a>\u00a0last week<\/span>, \u201c[w]e want a very vibrant site that\u2019s active at all times of the day. The best way to create that is through true mixed-use project.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n
