<\/a><\/p>\nCloudy skies and rainy weather weren\u2019t enough to keep hundreds from filtering into the Temple Baptist Church on a recent weekend for Sunday School Lofts<\/a>\u2019 preview opening in Riverdale.<\/p>\n In fact, 250 registrants signed up to drop in on Saturday alone for the event, which was held at the future site the loft-condo development, one that will retain the facade of the century-old former place of worship in Toronto\u2019s east end.<\/p>\n The 32-unit Sunday School Lofts is the second from Grid Developments<\/a>, which is a merging of experienced builders Aykler Developments<\/a> and Urban Fabric Development<\/a>.<\/p>\n The builders are no strangers to using heritage-rich elements in their projects. Steam Plant Lofts<\/a>, one of Aykler Developments early projects, saw a disused hospital power plant in Cabbagetown become home to an exclusive collection of lofts.<\/p>\n Sunday School Lofts at 14 Dewhurst Boulevard, just steps from Donlands Station in Greektown, continues in this tradition. The church\u2019s original red-brick and stained-glass Georgian Classical fronting, currently a backdrop to the sales centre, will be creatively integrated into the condo.<\/p>\n At the event Saturday, visitors milling about the high-ceilinged church scoped out the new model suite \u2014 which displays a two-bedroom, two-bathroom 1,044-square-foot layout \u2014 and enjoyed finger foods and refreshments.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
