The following list is based on data from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat<\/a>, the recognized authority on skyscraper height. It only considers skyscrapers, so\u00a0“freestanding structures” such as observation and\u00a0broadcast towers are not included in the ranking.<\/em><\/p>\n

In the upcoming calendar year\u00a010 new skyscrapers\u00a0of at least 1,128 feet in height are scheduled to be completed around the world. In ascending order they are…<\/p>\n

10. Xiamen International Center in Xiamen, China\u00a0— 1,128 feet (343.9 meters)<\/h2>\n

\nThis office tower will be capped off by a\u00a0rooftop helipad and sightseeing platform, offering visitors a panoramic view of\u00a0Xiamen Island. The development also includes a 45-storey five-star hotel.<\/p>\n

9.\u00a0The Address The BLVD in\u00a0Dubai —\u00a01,207 feet (368 meters)<\/h2>\n

\nStanding over 1,200 feet tall but spanning only\u00a072 floors, the luxury hotel rooms and residences that make up The Address The BLVD are sure to boast generously tall ceilings. When it’s completed, it will be the second tallest building in downtown Dubai, although still dwarfed by the nearby Burj\u00a0Khalifa.<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0Dalian International Trade Center in\u00a0Dalian, China —\u00a01,214 feet (370.1 meters)<\/h2>\n

7. Vostok Tower (larger of two Federation Towers) in Moscow, Russia —\u00a01,226 feet (373.7 meters)<\/h2>\n

\nFour years behind schedule, construction on Dubai’s second tallest tower should finally wrap up in 2016. The building is\u00a0comprised of a\u00a0300-room hotel on the first 33 floors, with another 45 residential floors above. The top 20 floors include some of the\u00a0most expensive three-bedroom apartments\u00a0in Dubai,<\/a>\u00a0with prices starting around\u00a0$1.6 million USD.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0Wuhan Center Tower in Wuhan, China —\u00a01,437 feet (438 meters)<\/h2>\n

4. Guangzhou CTF Finance Center in\u00a0Guangzhou, China —\u00a01,739 feet (530 meters)<\/h2>\n

\nThe\u00a0Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre is the second tower in a two-tower development\u00a0that overlooks the Pearl River in Guangzhou. The site is home to a\u00a0conference centre, hotel, observatory, mall and office building.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Lotte World Tower in\u00a0Seoul, South Korea — 1,819 feet\u00a0(554.5 meters)<\/h2>\n

\nOnce completed, the Lotte World Tower\u00a0will be the tallest building on the Korean peninsula, a title currently held by North Korea’s Ryugyong Hotel, which also holds the title of the tallest unoccupied building in the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Goldin Finance 117 in\u00a0Tianjin, China —\u00a01,957 feet (596.5 meters)<\/h2>\n

\nWhen it was structurally\u00a0topped off on September 8th, 2015,\u00a0Goldin Finance 117 was for a short time\u00a0the\u00a0second tallest building in\u00a0the world<\/a> behind the\u00a0Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Alas,\u00a0as other supertall construction projects near\u00a0completion, it has\u00a0quickly been bumped down the rankings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Ping An Finance Center in\u00a0Shenzhen, China —\u00a01,965 feet (599 meters)<\/h2>\n

\nOriginal plans called for a 60-meter\u00a0antenna to be added to the top of the building, which would ensure\u00a0that its vanity height would be greater than the\u00a0Shanghai Tower, making it\u00a0the tallest building in China. However, in February 2015, the antenna was removed due to the possibility that it might obstruct flight paths.<\/p>\n
