<\/a>King Blue Condos<\/a> lobby rendering<\/em><\/p>\nMunge Leung, a Toronto-based interior design firm, has announced Wednesday its rebranding\u00a0as Studio Munge<\/a>. In a note on Canadian Interiors, Studio Munge wrote that it was changing its name to celebrate the passion and energy that begins in the studio.<\/p>\n Studio Munge is headed by founder and principal Alessandro Munge. While it\u2019s unclear if co-founder, Sai Leung, is still involved at the company, the note states that the only thing that has changed is the firm\u2019s name. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAll that to say, the only thing changing is our name: you can still count on the same client commitment, the same immersive design, and the same creative collaboration you\u2019ve come to rely on for the last 18 years,\u201d the note reads.<\/span><\/p>\n Specializing in hospitality and new construction, the company has worked on projects like the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver, the Park Hyatt Los Angeles and the Bisha Hotel in Toronto. Studio Munge also dabbles in residential projects like Pier 27<\/a> and King Blue<\/a> as well as restaurants like Taverna Mercatto and Prohibition.<\/span><\/p>\n The duo met in the 1990s at Yabu Pushelberg, another design firm with offices in Toronto and New York. Together, they founded Munge Leung in 1997 and continued to work together for almost 20 years. <\/span><\/p>\n The statement on Canadian Interiors wraps up on an optimistic note.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe look forward to creating new narratives with you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Munge said in an email that he and his team are excited to move forward with the company’s new brand.<\/p>\n “We are thrilled to unveil our new brand, Studio Munge. Our new name recognizes and acknowledges that design is a team sport. The combination of skills in our studio and our collaborative process are our competitive advantage.
