The program accesses college-bound students\u2019 Facebook and Instagram posts\u00a0to gather information that will reveal their dorm decorating personality.<\/p>\n A short quiz refines the search results, asking about topics such as the state of your desk, breakfast habits and personal interests (Road trips! Photography! Clubbing!). The College Styler then creates a room design using Target\u2019s catalog of over 400 decor items. You can \u2018heart\u2019 products and add them to your \u2018faves,\u2019 because brands love embracing\u00a0slang words. From there, you can share your results with your future roommate(s) to determine if you are \u201cstyle besties\u201d or \u201cdesign frenemies.\u201d<\/p>\n The tool showcases Target\u2019s new line of back-to-college essentials, developed through Umbra\u2019s design student collaboration, which utilized crowdsourced up-voting to select the best prototypes.
