Perkins Eastman designed the rapturously gray brick facade of the development, which sits at 23 West 116th Street, across from the Kalahari condominiums, another L+M project.<\/p>\n<p>The residences at The Adeline range from one-bedrooms to four-bedrooms, many with private terraces; pricing for available units starts at $1.15 million for a 1,072-square-foot two-bedroom. Halstead Property Development Marketing is leading sales at the building.<\/p>\n<p>Interiors feature eight-foot casement windows, wide-plank oak floors, copious walk-in closets, tiled laundry closets with Bosch washer\/dryer and kitchens with marbled Caesarstone countertops, white custom matte lacquer cabinetry and Energy Star stainless steel appliances. Master baths are fitted with hand-laid herringbone porcelain tile and glass-enclosed walk-in showers with rain showerheads. All apartments have high-efficiency heating and cooling systems.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wanted to update the pre-war style with modernized details, to have the comfort you get from an old place, but with a new feel,&#8221; Tell Metzger, Development Director at L+M, told us on a tour of the building. &#8220;When you walk in, you should feel that someone thought about everything.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For instance, the oak wood flooring is oiled, not shellacked, for a softer appearance. The kitchen countertops were originally slated to be a gray Caesarstone, but the heaviness of the color threw off the balance of the interiors, which were crafted to contrast with the building&#8217;s starkly syncopated, almost masculine facade.<\/p>\n<p>Halstead&#8217;s Peter Denby, who is handling sales at The Adeline, said that buyers have been drawn to the apartments&#8217; clean lines and finishes. &#8220;They\u2019re warm and welcoming; everyone loves the floors, the wide-plank oak, the natural feel.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the latest model unit, 10F, which was furnished last month. Bike storage, private storage and parking are also available at an additional cost.
