Fifty Scollard Condos is a luxury residence coming soon to the corner of Bay and Scollard Street in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood.

The 41-storey tower by Lanterra was designed by internationally-renowned architecture firm Foster + Partners and features a three-tiered glass and steel facade characterized by strong vertical lines.

The project officially broke ground in November 2019, and while the site has been fairly quiet throughout the year, it has seen a noteworthy uptick in activity in recent months.

A major milestone was celebrated in late March when the onsite presentation centre was demolished to make way for construction. The building that was used as the presentation centre had been on the site since the late 2000s when it was used as the sales office for the Four Seasons Residences across the street. A new presentation centre has since been opened at 1333 Bay Street as suites are still available, starting from $2.6 million.

Summer 2020 saw another milestone achieved as crews began preparing the row of heritage homes on the property for disassembly. These four homes were built in 1890 and are designated heritage buildings. They will be moved east of their current position and incorporated into the development as new retail, office and commercial spaces. Renderings also show the west building’s distinctive white facade facing a new public square with trees, gardens and seating areas.

A fence now surrounds the perimeter and scaffolding has been installed along Bay Street as workers carefully disassemble the facade brick by brick. Once this process is complete, a team will build a shear wall within the homes and the rear portions will be removed. A specialized moving company will then place the structures on steel beams and slide them into their final spot.

When completed in 2023, Fifty Scollard will house an exclusive collection of 112 units with floorplans containing up to four bedrooms. Designed by Studio Munge, the suites feature 10-foot ceilings, upgraded finishes and expansive sightlines.

Amenities include valet and concierge services, a wine lounge, fitness centre, wine tasting room and swimming pool with a whirlpool.
