At Kerrisdale’s forthcoming Sterling condo development, homes range in size from 1,408 to an 2,134 square feet and include two-bedroom, two-bedroom plus den, and three-bedroom floorplans. And for most the top level homes, residents will enjoy access to generous private rooftop patios, with built-in outdoor kitchens and options for fireplaces and hot tubs.
Indeed, as a recent feature in the Vancouver Sun explains, developer Cressey imagined homes that would evoke the single-family lifestyle:
…that means including many of the key elements you would expect to find in a single-family home, like formal entryways, full-sized laundries with side-by-side washer dryers and powder rooms near the entrances. Living areas are extra wide, and there is space in the master bedrooms for king-sized beds. Even the second bedrooms have walk-in closets.
Perhaps where Sterling‘s extra space will be most evident is in the residences’ famous Cressey Kitchens. As Jason Turcotte, vice-president of development at Cressey, told the Sun:
“We expanded the kitchens in both directions so we could have space for a big five-by-five foot marble island. It is designed to be a very social space where people can gather round and enjoy each other’s company, while still having all the modern conveniences and extra storage you’d expect from a Cressey kitchen.”
Desirable features in these high-end cookeries include top-of-the-line integrated appliances from Sub-Zero and Wolf, stylish cabinetry made of Italian wood, gleaming stone countertops, pullout pantries, quartz backsplashes, under-cabinet lighting and built-in garbage and recycling units.
