When a homebuyer wants to live amid nature in a tranquil setting, they often have to sacrifice conveniences that come with a more urban location — not so at Spirit Bay.

The new Metchosin, BC community, which is only about a 35-minute drive from the provincial capital of Victoria, offers the best of seaside living. Nestled within Vancouver Island’s southern coast, the community at 4901 East Sooke Road has direct access to the Salish Sea and provides breathtaking views of the Olympic Mountains.

Once complete, the 100-acre community is expected to encompass about 500 homes and 20 locally-owned shops and services. The first phase, already well underway at three-quarters sold, includes 85 lots, with the second phase of the community expected soon. In all, there are 10 unique home designs and a variety of layouts for every lifestyle.

Hamlet homes here start from 500 square feet and prices around $400,000, while hillside Village homes range from 1,200 to 2,700 square feet, with prices between $600,000 and $900,000.

These energy-efficient, sustainable dwellings are heated by a renewable ocean geothermal system and have been inspired by the distinct architecture often seen in historic fishing villages. They feature brightly coloured board and batten exteriors, with ample outdoor living space. Beyond the homes, future residents will find 3,500 acres of parkland wilderness right beside Spirit Bay.

There will also be a number of shared outdoor and indoor amenities right within the community, including a marina, sports field, and homeowners club, as well as tennis courts. The dwellings at Spirit Bay are being built around a new Village Centre, which will act as an activity hub.

Located on Sci’anew First Nation land, the homes at Spirit Bay come with a prepaid, 99-year lease, which Spirit Bay Development Limited Partnership has negotiated with the Beecher Bay First Nation.

Join the Spirit Bay team for the last Discovery Day of the season taking place Saturday, November 10th. This is a great opportunity to walk the site with the developer, visit show homes, and have lunch with some current homeowners. Space is limited to 50 people, so RSVP now to info@spiritbay.ca.
