Granite Homes, an award-winning Ontario developer, is usually in the business of building homes for others, but recently it found a new one for itself.

The builder, behind communities including Gallery Towns in Guelph and Heritage Lane in Fergus, has announced the opening of a new downtown Guelph head office and modern design studio in a restored one-time CN Rail Building.

“We pride ourselves on our distinctive designs and superior craftsmanship,” says Josh Bellamy, Granite Homes’ president.

“Our new head office is no exception. Providing our staff with a unique working environment that fosters strong relationships and open communication was paramount in the design of the space,” he explains.

The design studio, located at 7 Edinburgh Road South, opens its doors to potential homebuyers every Tuesday at 5pm and Saturday at 1pm and 3pm. This allows them to tour a 2,700-square-foot studio, which boasts three full-sized kitchens and a pair of upscale bathroom vignettes.

At the studio, visitors can pick out finishes from cabinetry and countertops to doors, floors, and railings, so their new home will reflect their personal taste. There is also an interior design consultant on site to help visitors with the decision-making process.

“Personalizing your home is one of the most exciting parts of the homebuying experience,” says Bellamy. “It was important to us that we create a seamless and enjoyable design process for our homebuyers,” he adds.
