From sci-fi towers to waterfront condos, there were a number of new development applications put forward in 2021 that, if approved, could shape the landscape of Toronto’s downtown communities.

Now the famed city landmark is officially up for redevelopment thanks to a recently-submitted Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment application.

A newly proposed project hopes to join the neighbourhood’s roster of skyscraping towers, bringing upwards of 1,100 new units close to St. Mary and Bay streets.

Plans are in the works to add two new apartment buildings to an existing rental complex in Etobicoke’s Markland Wood neighbourhood.

The development offers premium living with modern, well-appointed suites, condo-like amenities and eco-friendly features.
