Manhattan condos posted the largest price gains, as the average sales price rose 37 percent year-over-year to $2.3 million.

In Manhattan, the average price per square foot of an apartment hit an unprecedented $1,363, a 23.6 percent increase from the previous year.

The average sales price of a Manhattan home in the fourth quarter of 2013 was $1.4 million.
