Known for its innovative approach towards wellness-focused design, Alliston at Home’s promise to residents of Hudson West is simple: sustainably built homes, better spaces and better living.

From Canadian-sourced building materials to its sought-after location, Hudson West promises to suit the needs of many different lifestyles.

Livabl sat down with Alliston at Home to learn more about the development.

Where is your project located? Why did you choose this location to develop?

Hudson West is located across from the famous Canada Olympic Park in Northwest Calgary. The development sits near downtown Calgary and is also just a short jaunt to the mountains. It takes about 15 minutes to get downtown, and the mountains are an hour drive away.

Are there any exciting amenities in or around the neighbourhood?

Hudson West is in the community of Greenwich, Northwest Calgary, adjacent to the new Farmer’s Market West. Along with the farmer’s market, a walkable community is being developed with boutique shops, restaurants, coffee shops, stores and a wine market.

What was the inspiration behind the design of the interiors or exteriors?

The sophisticated exterior elevation commands attention, using materials including cultured stone, brick veneer, and cedarwood to create an impressive presence in the community, while complimenting the vision of a New York-inspired townhome.

Inside the home, you are welcomed with executive-level standards not typically included in a production build, such as hardwood floors, stone countertops, and gourmet appliances.

Sourcing Canadian-made products allowed us to minimize cost inflation on imported products, while reassuring our clients that we are proudly Canadian and support Canadian business.

Hudson West stands out by using stone and brick to create a timeless feeling of establishment, while cedarwood embodies new life and a connection to the nearby Kananaskis foothills and Rocky Mountains.

Our interiors were designed to communicate three unique emotions expressed through interior selections:

‘Fresh Nordic,’ a Scandinavian-inspired monochromatic palate with a crisp white base and impactful contrast.

‘Natural Elegance,’ warm tonal accents and metals complimenting a refined earthy palate.

And ‘Urban Rustic,’ showcasing raw materials, dark accents, and mixed metals amongst a rich palate.
