Intergulf Development Group is kicking off the start of sales on their newest addition to the Simon Fraser UniverCity neighbourhood in Burnaby – Arbour.

With over 35 years of experience, Intergulf Development Group was one of the first developers to break ground at SFU UniverCity. This latest project marks another welcomed addition to their long-standing relationship with the area and complete community.

Arbour will be a collection of 178 homes spread across four buildings. Homes range from one-, two- and three-bedroom condos and city homes, to 3-bedroom townhomes.

Livabl spoke to Sean Lin, vice president of sales and marketing at Intergulf to learn more about the community.

Where is your development located? Why did you choose this location to develop?

Arbour is located at Simon Fraser’s UniverCity high above on Burnaby Mountain.

It’s within walking distance to the village and surrounding neighbourhood. Navigating by foot is easy thanks to over a thousand acres of forest-filled multi-use trails. Arbour’s location puts you on the edge of everything while atop the highest point of Metro Vancouver.

The location on Burnaby Mountain also means the rest of Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam and Port Moody are right next door. The SkyTrain and Highway 1 are just down the hill, meaning trips across the city are a breeze. In addition to all those pre-existing travel routes, the future SFU gondola route will make living at Arbour that much more convenient.

Tell us more about the design of the project – what are the exteriors and interiors like?

Arbour’s collection of condos, city homes and townhomes gives you a distinctly new way to enjoy life on the mountain. Homes feature spacious floorplans, expansive outdoor spaces, wrap-around balconies, walk-in closets, ensuites and more.

From your front door to the views overlooking the southern slopes of the mountain, each home’s interiors have been designed to flow naturally onto spacious patios and balconies that open up onto natural green space. Add in the luxury of a rooftop deck, and Arbour’s townhomes give you an incredible perspective of the park space that surrounds you.

What can residents expect from their neighbourhood?

Set on the highest point of Metro Vancouver, incredible views are only one of the perspectives of Arbour’s lifestyle. Naturally serene and conveniently urban, this is a way of life that is unique in every way. As the UniverCity community grows, a health care clinic has been added in addition to retail spaces which ensure your everyday conveniences are all met at Burnaby Mountain. The Slopes Neighbourhood Park is steps away for residents to enjoy along with the 28 km of multi-use forest trails in the Burnaby Mountain Conservation area.

With a world-class education campus consistently deemed the top comprehensive Canadian university by Maclean’s, to a daycare, University Highlands Elementary School and High Street filled with shopping and dining – Arbour’s lifestyle is naturally rich in every way.

What features or amenities make this project unique?

The amenities you’ll find throughout Arbour have been created to enhance and complement an already rewarding lifestyle. You can entertain with outdoor barbecues and seating on the rooftop. The rooftop amenity even includes a life size chess art piece. Arbour is designed with your convenience in mind.

The entertainment room includes a complete kitchenette thoughtfully designed for entertaining and gatherings, large or small. Whether it’s the community rooftop space designed for entertaining and taking in the unmatched views, a workout & fitness space with an open-air deck, or small conveniences like the car and bike wash stations, every amenity will give you another reason to love living here.

Residents also have access to the facilities on the adjacent SFU campus including the art gallery, aquatic centre, library, health and athletic facilities, and a very well-stocked bookstore through the Community Card.

Interested buyers are encouraged to visit the presentation centre located at 8955 University High St. in Burnaby.
