Creekstone is a new heritage-inspired community in southwest Calgary. This single-family development by Apex Developments, features various builders including Excel Homes. Excel has over ten different models to choose from with prices beginning in the low $500,000s for duplexes and mid-$600,000s for front-drive homes. Sizes range from 1,214 to 2,485 square feet, with all homes containing at least three bedrooms and up to six, depending on the model. Every Excel Home is certified Built Green.
Livabl spoke to Kristina Plank, the marketing manager at Excel Homes about Creekstone and what buyers can expect.
Creekstone recently had its grand opening this fall. Can you tell us about the event?
The grand opening event was fantastic – there was a big turnout and everyone was excited to come see the new show home parade. There were food trucks, face painting, and so much more. The beautiful weather was ideal for families to come and enjoy the new parks and walkways in the community.
What can visitors expect when they come to your new show home?
Our new show home in Creekstone is the Collingwood model. It is a 2,227 square feet front-drive home, with three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. This home was built with versatility in mind. With a sizeable pass-through wall into the kitchen, coffee bar and spacious pantry, this home was specifically designed to accommodate a family that loves to entertain. It also features a main floor flex room, perfect for an at home office. The central bonus room separates the master suite from the two oversized bedrooms upstairs. Downstairs, a fully developed one-bedroom basement suite offers a get-away or private oasis for guests, family members or rental tenants.

Creekstone is part of the master planned community of Pine Creek, in the heart of southwest Calgary. Many years ago, this area was a key location in rural Alberta agriculture and farming. It was once the site of the first stagecoach lines into the City of Calgary. To honour this, the developer, Apex has including some of the original stonework and architecture from the old farming sites and is working to preserve the creek that runs alongside the community with lots of green space, parks and walking paths.
