Friday Harbour, homes to a collection of condos and townhomes, touts all-season resort living.

As thousands of Canadians head to the cottage to enjoy the best of the summer months, Innisfil residents will get to experience their favourite outdoor activities right on their doorstep.

Friday Harbour is an upscale lifestyle community located at Big Bay Point on the shores of Lake Simcoe. Embracing all-season resort living, Friday Harbour is home to a collection of townhome and condominium suites located steps from the water in addition to amenities and services that evoke a modern cottage lifestyle.

As summer rolls along, residents and guests to the community can experience a variety of water and land-based summer activities, from paddle boarding to biking to boating on the open water. Friday Harbour is filling up its July calendar with events to take part in, including live music at the Pier amphitheatre and beach campfires.

What was the vision for Friday Harbour? How do people react when they arrive here?

I joined Friday Harbour close to 18 months ago. Since living in Canada, I had spent my career in Toronto. When I was approached about Friday Harbour, honestly, I didn’t know about it – shame on me of course, because I didn’t drive outside of Toronto often.

Friday Harbour is located near Lake Simcoe, about an hour from Toronto.

When you visit, you’re in awe of the beauty, the destination, Lake Simcoe, and the resort itself. You fall in love with the audacity of the vision behind the resort. That’s how I fell in love with Friday Harbour, and I do believe that’s how many of our visitors do as well. The most repeated reaction or impression that I hear when someone is visiting Friday Harbour is “Wow.” I think the second statement that they make is “How did I not know about it?” These were the first two statements that I made myself.

We’re not far away from Toronto. We’re about an hour, depending on where you are driving from. We see ourselves as an all-seasons resort and destination. We are a resort, a community, and a destination. There’s a lot of things happening all year round. We just finished our Father’s Day weekend, an amazing car show with music, activities, and other fun things happening on our Promenade. We have so many other activations happening in the summer and around the year as well. Please take the drive, come and visit us and enjoy your time here.

What does all-season resort living mean to you?

All-season resort for us means that there’s always something to do here at Friday Harbour, not only in the summer.

Last winter, we hosted our first Holiday Market, which was an amazing success. We’re going to be hosting it again this year. In January, February, and March we launched our Skate Escape experience which is a beautiful ice rink installation in the middle of our Promenade. The Promenade is our shopping and retail space, and I hope you get the chance to walk along it. It’s so beautiful and relaxing.

The skating rink was in the middle of that, and surrounding it there were many activities throughout the months of the winter season. We want our visitors and guests in the surrounding area to be at Friday Harbour, not only for the summer, but all year round as well.

During the winter, we have cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and other fun activities. The Nest golf club also welcomes guests and members to our golf simulator at the end of the golf season.

What’s next for the Friday Harbour community?

We’re excited ourselves about the future potential of Friday Harbour as a community, as a destination, as a resort. If you would like to purchase a home here, we have townhomes located on Ferretti Island. You can find out more information on available homes on our website.

There are more exciting chapters and additional development to come to Friday Harbour. We’ve very happy and looking forward to sharing all of that excitement and more information in due time.
