Mirabella is a two-tower condo development now under construction at 1926 Lake Shore Boulevard West. The project by Diamante Development Corporation replaces a Four Seasons hotel that was demolished in 2014 with a pair of 38-storey towers joined together by a multi-storey podium facing Lake Shore Boulevard.


Construction on Mirabella began in the summer of 2019, when the onsite presentation centre and model suite was moved and shoring rigs and excavation equipment arrived on the scene. Given its waterfront location, which abuts the Gardiner Expressway on its north end, excavation was kept to a minimum to avoid water issues and reduce its impact on the highway. Like the adjacent Park Lake Residences east of the project, parking at Mirabella will be predominantly above grade in the nine-storey podium.

Two cranes were installed by the end of 2019, and formwork on the lower levels began shortly thereafter. By spring 2020, the structure was about the same height as the expressway as construction continued through the summer on the nine-storey podium. The podium reached its final height in October and work subsequently began on the tower levels.


Today, Mirabella’s two towers stand prominently along Lakeshore Boulevard, surpassing the height of its 19-storey neighbour. The West Tower has reached a height of 26 storeys, while the East Tower now stands at 31 storeys. Cladding and window installation has progressed to the 16th and 14th levels on the West Tower and the 18th and 16th levels on the East Tower.


When complete, Mirabella will feature architecture by Scott Shields Architects, characterized by a classic limestone look, timeless proportions and tapered columns. Accents of bay windows and expansive glass balconies add interest to its façade, while simultaneously allowing for both lake and city views.


Amenities include an Urban Parallel-designed central lobby with a 24-hour concierge, lavish furniture, and a refrigeration room and package storage for deliveries. More amenities are found on the 10th floor, which features an indoor pool with an unobstructed view of the lake and a fully-equipped exercise room with views of High Park. The expansive amenity level boasts a reflecting pool with a waterfall, a wood deck with a fire pit, yoga studio, party room, barbecues and outdoor dining areas.


The development will also have a large public art component with the podium’s north-facing wall used as a canvas for a colourful mural by artist Jennifer Macklem. Applied to a series of aluminum panels, Motion in Air depicts Toronto’s ecology and will adorn the entire façade that faces the Gardiner Expressway.
