Toronto’s Humber Bay Shores has transformed into a booming residential district with many skyline-altering new high-rise condominiums launched over the past decade. Today, the cluster of modern developments between Lakeshore Boulevard West and Marine Parade Drive have created a distinct skyline for the community as most have already been completed or reached their final heights.
Situated at 2163 Lake Shore Boulevard West, Water’s Edge at The Cove is one of the last towers that has yet to rise into the skyline. The 56-storey tower by The Conservatory Group is located directly north of the developer’s 17-storey The Cove at Waterways residence, which was completed in 2019.
Construction on the site actually dates back to 2015 when site preparation and excavation started for The Cove as both properties share and are connected via the underground garage. Marketing, sales and construction moved ahead on The Cove and that project was completed and occupied in 2019.
It wasn’t until fall 2019 that construction on Water’s Edge began gaining traction when an excavator and drilling rig were seen on site. The excavation and shoring phase picked up its pace in early 2020, and by the end of April, the six-level pit was fully excavated. This was followed by the installation of the first tower crane in August and a second crane in November.
Currently, crews are still working on the underground garage, pouring concrete for the third level. Rebar-reinforced concrete columns are visible throughout the site as construction progresses towards grade.
When complete, Water’s Edge at The Cove will consist of a 56-storey glass tower with 602 suites and resort-inspired amenities. Available suites start from $634,900 and feature open-concept layouts with standard wide-plank laminate flooring, granite or quartz countertops in kitchens, and a stainless steel appliance package. Residents on higher floors will enjoy sweeping views of Humber Bay and the downtown Toronto skyline.
