Owning a luxury property near the water offers its own set of unique real estate benefits, from panoramic views of the lake, to easy access to local beaches and boardwalks. But one new construction development in West Vancouver’s Horseshoe Bay plans to provide its residents with amenities that will have them living the waterfront lifestyle to the fullest.

Horseshoe Bay Sanctuary is an 11-storey condo and townhome project created by Westbank. Built on the harbourfront of Horseshoe Bay and adjacent to Sewell’s Marina, this 158-suite development will provide communal use of a Chris-Craft Corsair 25 powerboat inside of the building’s very own boathouse.

The boathouse will be constructed from arched wooden beams with large transparent and translucent glass panels, which will make the structure appear to glow at night, creating an architectural statement piece on the harbourfront. Maritime and natural influences are seen throughout the design of Horseshoe Bay Sanctuary. Merrick Architects reportedly studied the local forests and community traditions when creating the project’s West Coast modern aesthetic.

Off of the boathouse’s multi-purpose hall, a set of accordion gangway stairs will take residents down to a floating dock where the amenity boat will be moored. According to the Horseshoe Bay Sanctuary website, residents will be able to book the Corsair 25 for use with or without a pilot. From Horseshoe Bay, riders could probably take the boat out for a spin around many of the neighbouring islands or into downtown Vancouver’s docks.

“No boathouse is complete without a resident boat,” says the project’s website. “Our boathouse will be home to a top-end powerboat that is as much a joy to look at as it is to ride in.”

Horseshoe Bay Sanctuary will be laid out across six different styles of buildings, and provide small commercial units for marine and non-marine businesses. To improve the local public realm, the project also plans to provide pedestrian connections to the neighbourhood park in addition to creating a European-style village with a cobbled piazza and greenspaces.

The latest information from BuzzBuzzHome shows that pricing for available units at Horseshoe Bay Sanctuary begins from $1,588,000.
