Galleria on the Park is a new development that will transform Toronto’s former Galleria Mall into a 20-acre mixed-use community with new residences, a pedestrian mews with retail spaces, a 95,000-square-foot community centre and a brand new eight-acre park. The master-planned community by ELAD Canada has been under construction since crews demolished the aging shopping mall in 2019.
Following the initial launch of Galleria 01 and Galleria 02, ELAD has unveiled Galleria III Condos as the next phase of the community. Situated on the northeastern corner of the property at Dufferin and Dupont, the 31-storey residence will sit at the gateway to the community with its stunning flatiron tower. Envisioned by Hariri Pontarini Architects, the design celebrates and pays homage to the area’s unique industrial heritage. The tower rises from a brick-clad, multi-level podium and sports straight, vertical metal guardrails on balconies and metal panels inspired by intricate patterns of steel radiators.
The building is anchored at grade with a series of two-storey retail spaces housing food, beverage and personal services. A diagonal pedestrian mews, designed by landscape architect Janet Rosenberg & Studio Inc, connects the residence with the rest of the community, including the new eight-acre Wallace Emerson Park.
“The façade and feeling at the corner of Dupont and Dufferin Streets is going to be completely re-imagined with the announcement of Galleria III,” said Dror Duchovny, Vice President Marketing & Asset Management at ELAD Canada. “We always plan with the community in mind and Galleria III is no exception.”
Inside, the sophisticated interiors and common areas are by DesignAgency and include an impressive double-height lobby with curved walls and arches and time-honoured finishes like leather and wood, paired with cozy seating areas and custom artwork.
Residents will have access to a wealth of onsite amenities designed with health and wellness in mind. The third floor features a fully-equipped fitness centre with a yoga room, spin studio and meditation room, as well as an exterior dog run and pet wash. Wood ceilings and neutral-hued materials impart a calming and zen-like atmosphere, while relaxing outdoor spaces and private pods allow one to reconnect with nature.
Those who work remotely will appreciate the fully-equipped co-working space, complete with semi-private desks and meetings rooms.
