Earlier this month, MRKT was announced as the next phase of Tridel’s ambitious Alexandra Park revitalization project.

The 15-storey boutique residence boasts contemporary architecture, sought-after amenities and an ideal location at the crossroads of some of downtown Toronto’s best neighbourhoods.

This weekend, prospective homebuyers will have the opportunity to learn more about the development, including pricing information, at a special virtual launch on Saturday, September 26th at 2pm. Hosted by Tridel’s VP of Sales Development, Winson Chan, the event will include an introduction and overview of the project, a look at select suite designs, instructions on how to book an appointment and a Q&A session. Participants will be among the first to view the complete collection of floorplans with prices, so be sure to register online today to secure your spot.

Situated in the heart of downtown Toronto, Alexandra Park is in the midst of a major revitalization project that will transform the area with brand new residences, retail spaces, pedestrian-friendly streets and public parks. Tridel has already completed construction on the first two phases, SQ and SQ2, along with the refurbishment of Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) buildings on the south end of the site. The developer plans on adding more condo residences, including the replacement of units from the neighbouring Atkinson Housing Co-op, as well as a new community centre and neighbourhood park with lush landscaping and walkways.

MRKT anchors the northwest end of the site at Dundas Street West and Denison Avenue, enlivening the corner with its modern exterior architecture. Designed by CS&P Architects and SvN Architects + Planners, the development consists of two towers with the eastern block housing the Atkinson Co-Op and the western block housing the condominiums. While the two towers share a podium, they will operate separately and be privately maintained. This includes all amenity spaces except for a shared community garden which both buildings will have access to.

A heritage brick podium sits at the base of the building and was designed to complement the existing retail and architecture of neighbouring Kensington Market. This section will also introduce new retail along Dundas Street West. The upper portion is clad in a contrasting white precast grid facade punctuated with large windows and integrated balconies.

Surrounded by trendy Queen West, quirky Kensington Market and diverse Chinatown, MRKT presents a rare opportunity to live in the cultural epicentre of the city. The development is just steps away from four distinct neighbourhoods dotted with tasty eateries, cafes, clothing boutiques and stunning street art. Public transit is available 24/7 with the Bathurst, Dundas, Spadina and Queen streetcar lines all within walking distance, providing easy access to lines one and two of the subway. Other nearby landmarks include Toronto Western Hospital, OCAD University, University of Toronto and of course Alexandra Park.

The suites range in size from 516 to 1,475 square feet and offer a variety of floorplans to suit all homebuyers. A total of 175 units are available, with one-bedroom, one-bedroom-plus-den, two-bedroom, two-bedroom-plus-den and three bedroom layouts. A limited collection of lofts, townhomes and penthouses are also available.

Carefully curated by Tomas Pearce Interior Design, homebuyers can expect high quality finishes and the latest home tech, including Tridel Connect, a collection of smart home technologies such as automated parcel delivery, keyless entry and an in-home smart panel where you can communicate with the concierge and receive notices.

Residents of MRKT will have a long list of onsite amenities for the entire family right at their doorsteps, starting with a grand two-storey lobby. A state-of-the-art two-storey gym and swimming pool makes it easy to maintain an active lifestyle, while a sleek party room provides the perfect space for entertaining. And, in an effort to create more family-friendly communal spaces, MRKT incorporates a Youth and Kids Zone.

Outdoor amenities feature a landscaped courtyard that separates the two towers and creates an urban oasis with a community garden, playground and plenty of seating. Meanwhile, a pedestrian mews will be home to new retail spaces and simultaneously facilitates access from Augusta Avenue to Denison Avenue.
