Sales are preparing to launch in a new master-planned community that will transform the township of Esquimalt.

Esquimalt Town Square is a collection of four new buildings combined with civic and commercial spaces debuting at Esquimalt Road and Park Place. Developed by local builder Aragon Properties, this community represents a revitalization of the neighbourhood, one that will introduce new housing and commercial space alongside a stunning new library and an art walk that celebrates the talent of local Greater Victoria artists.

Three of the buildings at Esquimalt Town Square will be dedicated for residential use — the Spruce, a six-storey rental apartment building with ground-floor commercial space, and the Arbutus and the Douglas, two six-storey, wood frame buildings that will provide 68 for-sale homes. Suites in the Arbutus and the Douglas will include one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts ranging from 650 to 1,301 square feet in size. Pricing begins from $518,900.

Drawing inspiration from the beauty of the region, the modern West Coast interiors of Esquimalt Town Square reflect a tone-on-tone aesthetic created with high-quality materials. The natural colour palette pulls from the surrounding landscape, paired with distinctive feature walls constructed from reclaimed bricks sourced from local heritage buildings.

Each home in Esquimalt Town Square will offer generous outdoor spaces ranging from 72 to 1,178 square feet. Penthouse homes will feature rooftop patios, complete with a trellised covered area and an outdoor kitchen. Here, residents can entertain guests or simply unwind against the backdrop of the Salish Sea, Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island.

The final six-storey building, The Mill, will be home to office space and the Township’s newest library, Greater Victoria Public Library – Esquimalt Branch. This mass timber structure located in the community’s square will harmonize beauty and sustainability by using natural building materials that sequester carbon, contributing to the fight against climate change while attracting companies and jobs to the area.

Esquimalt Town Square provides endless opportunities for residents and neighbours alike to gather throughout the community. Green spaces and the open square will offer a scenic and welcoming setting for farmers’ markets, events and town festivals to take place in once it’s safe to congregate in large groups again. The square will also be a destination for shopping and dining, incorporating one of the community’s most loved coffee roasters, Esquimalt Roasting Company, as well as a restaurant into the ground-floor retail spaces.

The public plaza is enhanced with an art walk. In partnership with the Township of Esquimalt, Victoria-based artist Bill Porteous has curated a collection of six permanent artworks by artists from across Greater Victoria, fostering an imaginative space where residents and visitors can feel inspired.

Esquimalt Town Square is conveniently located near community services, parks and schools. Reach downtown Victoria within a 10-minute drive and the Trans-Canada Highway for easy commuting to Saanich, Langford and beyond.
