Bayside is a new development of modern mid-rise condominiums by Tridel and Hines located along Toronto’s eastern waterfront. The master-planned community already features two completed residences and a third and fourth are on the way. The third phase, Aquabella, is currently under construction and is scheduled for occupancy in spring 2021, while Aqualuna, the final phase, is currently in pre-construction sales.
Construction on Aquabella officially started in May 2018 with a ceremonial groundbreaking event. Shoring and excavation of its underground levels followed and two cranes were installed in late summer 2018. By the end of 2019, construction had progressed past grade, and earlier this year, the project reached its final height.
Today, only one crane remains on site as much of the structure is now in place awaiting the installation of the building’s exterior cladding. Crews continue to install windows and sliding doors, beginning from the ground floor up to the GPH level and temporary white fencing is in place of balcony glass and railings. Elsewhere on the project, interior work has started on lower levels that have already been enclosed. According to Tridel, hoarding and overhead protection will be removed as streetscaping activities begin in the fall.
When completed, Aquabella will feature an eye-catching 12-storey silhouette designed by Denmark’s 3XN, with distinctive stepped garden terraces along the upper levels. The design of the terraces not only elivens the building’s exterior design but also provides for expansive outdoor spaces and unobstructed lake views for residents.
Amenities include a lobby with concierge, state-of-the-art fitness centre, party room and movie theatre. A large rooftop terrace is situated on the seventh floor and boasts stylish cabanas and a swimming pool.
