The Davies is a boutique luxury condominium now under construction at 281 Avenue Road in Summerhill. Construction on the Brandy Lane Homes project began in 2018 with the removal of the presentation centre, followed by excavation of the three-level underground parking garage.

Today, the nine-storey building is really taking shape with construction nearing its final height. A recent visit reveals crews are now preparing formwork and pouring the eighth floor, as the crane towers above. The concrete skeleton also shows the structure’s overall shape, including the curved balconies and terraces on the southwest corner.

Although there isn’t much action happening in the adjacent Robertson Davies Park just yet, Brandy Lane Homes has committed to working with the city to enhance the neighbourhood greenspace with new trees, landscaping, walkways and seating areas.

Designed by Toronto-based SMV Architects, The Davies boasts a contemporary profile and elegant exterior design characterized by a harmonious palette of stone, wood and glass. The expansive wraparound balconies further define its shape, while allowing residents to have extensive outdoor space and views of the city.

Inside, suites by Lukas Design Interiors are designed with elegance and sophistication in mind. Each of the 40 units is appointed with a generous, open-concept living area, free-flowing layout, and modern finishes and luxury features. Standard in every suite is a private access elevator, pre-finished engineered hardwood flooring, porcelain tile in the bathrooms, a gas fireplace and barbecue hookup.

Residents of The Davies will also have access to an array of on-site amenities, starting with the sophisticated lobby and concierge service. Finished with walnut panelled walls and decorated with fine art pieces, including a bronze sculpture by Paul Fairley, the elegant entryway provides a warm welcome to residents and guests alike.

There’s also a convenient conference room that can accommodate up to 10 guests, a multi-purpose room for entertaining, dog wash for pet owners and a well-equipped fitness room. Finally, the rooftop terrace offers another space for lounging or entertaining friends and family, while taking in the views of downtown Toronto and nearby Yorkville.
