Yonge + Rich is a 45-storey condominium playfully named for its location in downtown Toronto near the intersection of Yonge Street and Richmond Street East. The 680-unit residence by Great Gulf is now under construction after breaking ground in late 2015 and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Designed by architectsAlliance, Yonge + Rich features an eye-catching design that consists of two conjoined tower volumes with distinct exterior cladding. Construction crews are currently pouring the final floors and the building is expected to top off in the coming weeks.


Exterior finishes have been installed up to the tower’s midpoint, revealing its dynamic facade and irregular shape. The northern tower is more traditional in design, characterized by sleek, horizontal lines and balconies with simple white glass. In contrast, the southern tower boasts a geometric pattern created by a balcony treatment of clear glass mixed with white perforated aluminum panels that appear to randomly zig-zag up the height of the building.

At ground level, the four-storey podium is covered in a dark precast concrete installed in a vertical slat pattern. Large glass panels are also visible behind scaffolding, where new retail spaces are expected to be introduced to the area.

When complete, Yonge + Rich will house 680 suites designed by interior design firm, Burdifilek. Standard features and finishes include pre-finished engineered flooring throughout, contemporary kitchen cabinets with soft-close drawers, and solid surface countertops.


Residents will have access to a long list of private amenities, starting with a welcoming, double-height lobby with concierge. More amenities are situated on the fifth floor, including a fitness centre, yoga studio, billiard room and party room with a kitchen. Plus, outdoor spaces include a landscaped garden, outdoor swimming pool, barbecue and lounge areas.
