It was supposed to be a summer to remember at the Pendry Hotel & Residences, complete with cocktails by the pool, signature treatments at the spa and fine dining at the Wolfgang Puck-branded restaurants. 

It’s unclear whether the COVID-19 pandemic will delay the development’s Summer 2020 opening date, but with LA County’s stay-at-home order in place until July 31st, it will likely come without much fanfare.

The construction site is still active and the building appears to be fully encased with glass. Even the future billboard is in place, waiting to be plastered with a seven-story ad for the latest blockbuster. The grand entrance to the hotel is beginning to take shape, although the signature signage has yet to be installed.

When complete, the Pendry Hotel will feature 149 rooms and 37 suites, while the Residences will include 40 luxury homes with 2,900 to 6,000 square feet of living space. Residents will enjoy an exclusive lobby with dedicated staff, accessing their homes via private elevator. The open-plan interiors are characterized by high-end finishes and materials, glass curtain walls, Martin Brudnizki custom-designed kitchens, and spa-inspired ensuites with deep-soaking baths.

Each residence opens onto a sprawling terrace or balcony — some with more than 2,500 square feet of open-air entertaining space and private pools, feature fire pits, spas and outdoor kitchens.

While they’re welcome to take advantage of the hotel’s thoughtful mix of amenities — including a rooftop pool, four restaurants, seven bars, a live entertainment and performance venue, onsite spa and private social club — residents will also have access to owner-only amenities.

Expect a rooftop pool deck with sweeping city views, wine tasting room, garden deck, private fitness center, board room, owner’s lounge with an honor bar, and dedicated elevators to ensure privacy.

Sales kicked off last year with prices starting at $3 million and ballooning to $30 million for the largest private residence. The project is being developed by Combined Properties and Aecom Capital and is positioned along the Sunset Strip, across from The Comedy Store.
