Through these difficult times, companies have found many ways to give back to their communities, from donating funds to food banks to manufacturing personal protective equipment for front-line workers.

Joining the effort to support workers and battle the economic fallout caused by the pandemic, a graphic artist, TV reporter and Toronto developer came together to launch the See You Soon Toronto merchandise collection earlier this month.

The initiative is co-directed by award-winning graphic artist, Ben Johnston, entertainment television reporter Tyrone Edwards, and the Principal of Lifetime Developments, Brian Brown.

All of the funds raised by the limited edition art and apparel line are directed to See You Soon Toronto Inc, a not-for-profit that provides support to the hospitality industry, mental health services and front-line workers. Today, it was announced that the initiative has raised over $50,000 just two weeks into its campaign.

“We are eternally grateful for the support we have received that helped us reach this milestone,” reads the most recent post on the See You Soon Toronto Instagram account. “We cannot wait to hit more milestones with all of you and continue to help those in need.”

Inspired by the longing for in-person interaction, See You Soon Toronto is designed as an “optimistic promise from Toronto to its inhabitants,” one that acknowledges how the city, establishments and its residents miss one another.

A few of the beneficiaries of the funds who have been impacted by COVID-19 will include Fred Victor Mental Health Services, Feed the Frontlines TO and Lifetime Charitable Foundation. Corporate partners spanning the hospitality industry and other sectors have also become involved to spread the message in addition to fundraising.

The See You Soon Toronto collection consists of five merchandise pieces: two t-shirts ($30), two crewnecks sweatshirts ($65) and an artwork print by Johnston ($250).
