When it comes to real estate, the old adage “location, location, location” still rings true. And for many homebuyers, a location close to public transit is at the top of their list. In Toronto, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT is one of the city’s biggest transit infrastructure projects and has been under construction since 2011. Nearly a decade later, the Crosstown is approaching the final phase of construction and anticipated to open in 2022.
When complete, the LRT will stretch 19 kilometres across Eglinton Avenue from Mount Dennis to Kennedy Station, with connections to the TTC’s Line 1. Not only will the Crosstown LRT significantly cut transit times by up to 60 percent, it will also bring new retail, commercial and residential developments to many neighbourhoods along the route. We’ve compiled a list of new residences that are currently under development and slated for occupancy in 2022 and 2023, just in time for the opening of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.
